About
Hi, I'm Imogen
Founder of SciHelp Tutoring. Ten years of post-school education in science and science communication, seven of them spent teaching. Here is the long version.

Why this practice teaches the way it does
I love learning and, as a result, I have never spent long away from a classroom. During my time as a student, I noticed something simple—an idea that has driven me to create this community. The subjects I found hardest were not the difficult ones. They were the ones where I felt I had lost touch with the people teaching me.
Rigid delivery works for some students and quietly loses the rest. That includes me, at several points. So every session here starts with a question about how the student learns best, and the plan gets built from that answer rather than from a template. It is the one rule I hold every tutor to.
The result is a fairly relaxed lesson with serious content underneath it. You are welcome to get things wrong out loud. That is usually where the useful part starts.
Everyone is welcome, and this is an openly LGBTQIA+ friendly space.
